MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish purified clay, chamois mottling, molded with retouches to sticks.
Circular antefix with head of Gorgon of calm type, a crown of sinuous snakes surrounds the face, wavy hair, large eyes, cheekbones detected, closed mouth, small sunken chin. There are traces of the original pink color for the complexion and brown for the hair.
PRODUCTION: Apulian pottery, Taranto
STATE OF CONSERVATION: intact, encrusted, slight chipping, without the cap.
