Jean-Simon Deverberie (horloger, fondeur et fabricant de bronze - Paris 1764-1824, actif en 1812 au 47 rue des Fossés du Temple). According to an original model to the preparatory drawing preserved in the catalog of the "Models of Clocks" preserved in the Inha (national institute of History of Art). Rare clock representing Cupid devoting himself to painting, taking his dog for model. The scene, posed on a tree stump in which is inscribed the movement with a large enamel dial with fleur-de-lis hands. The base is supported by three lion claws. Bronze finely chiseled, gilded with mercury and black patina. Eyes of the dog made with enamel. Paris, Empire period. Height : 44 cm. Condition : Very good condition, with key and balance. Provenance : Collection of Baron and Baroness François Duesberg.
