Pendule dite à la “laitière“, sur un modèle déposé pour le bronzier Louis Croutelle (1765-1829) en 1807 à Paris. . Depicting a milkmaid wearing a beret, sitting astride her horse carrying a heavy wicker basket in which the enameled dial movement with "Breguet" hands is inscribed. Base, resting on four bell-shaped feet, with a cow in the center, flanked by two women, one tasting cream, the other busy with the churn. Chiseled bronze, gilded and with black patina. Eyes of the horse in glass. Circa 1810. Dimensions : 29 x 40 x 10,5 cm. Condition : Very good condition. With key and balance. Provenance : Collection of Baron and Baroness François Duesberg. Note : Rare variant of this model where the milkmaid is wearing a cap instead of the usual bun. Litt. Catalog of the Duesberg Museum, page 49 - Pierre Kyellberg "La pendule française", page 433.
