MELAYER carpet (Persia), end of the 19th century
Dimensions : 198 x 133cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
A hexagonal medallion crenellated navy abraché is posed on an ivory field framed by four spandrels brick, the whole being enriched with flowers and polychrome floral scrolls. Two small counter borders with garlands frame a blue flowered border.
