SAROUK carpet (Persia), late 19th century
Dimensions : 152 x 96cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
An oblong navy field covered with flowered stems in pastel tones, supports a rectangular ivory medallion, crenellated, with stylized floral compositions. Four spandrels old pink, highlighted ivory, plant decorations bluish, frame the whole. Two small borders with garlands surround the main cream stylized polychrome corollas.
