*Exceptional and amazing hunting harquebus with wheel, caliber 19 mm. Mounted with a magnificent and long round barrel of the Indies, smooth, flared and decorated with fine grooves towards the mouth, then chiseled of a fantastic animal with open mouth, with fangs and prominent eyes, chiseled of scales then, with sides, followed by a second mouth identical to the preceding one and prolonging, round with the thunder, with punch on gold bottom (remains). Typical half-moon sight. Large German flat-bodied lock, with external wheel, held by a heart-shaped flange. Basin with drawer. Hallmark on the lock "PR". Chiseled battery spring and partly engraved inner spring of the lock. The stock and barrel are made of fruit wood (the barrel is repaired), profusely decorated with inlays of deer antlers, decorated with grimacing masks and fantastic animal masks, foliage, acorns, a helmeted bust figure, hares, dogs, putti, fruits and enriched with three oval mother-of-pearl reserves finely engraved with men in armor. Cover plate engraved with a devil. Wooden fruit stick with bone tip. (missing two pins, slight missing corner of the butt plate, fractured shaft reinforced from the inside, invisible repair from the outside). Barrel length : 101,5 cm - Overall length : 141 cm Barrel hallmark. India ? Around 1600. Mark of the lock "PR". Rodschloss, 1605. (see Stockel n° 2, page 1094).
