TAM Coupé Chauffeur. Circa 1920. Type : M12. Chassis number : 1071. Engine number : 10182 C4 MC. Engine : CHAPUIS-DORNIER 4 cylinder engine 2 300 cm3 with side valves (Ø 75 x 130). 12 horsepower. Gearbox: Manual, 4 gears plus reverse, cone clutch. Registration : French, 1967, 12 HP. Technical control : Without. Condition : Not running, engine blocked, in the state. Price : 2 000 €. The TAM brand stands for "Travaux-Automobiles-Mécanique", a company located at 107 boulevard de Courbevoie in Courbevoie in the Hauts de Seine between 1908 and 1920. To this day there are very few known vehicles of this brand. The model that we present here, re-bodied as a coupé chauffeur, has a CORMOULS bodywork plate. This vehicle was probably transformed into a flatbed at the end of the war, as its registration card shows, and then put back in a state close to the original one by means of a later transformation. Note that the front axle does not have a braking system, this one being operated by the gearbox output and by drums on the rear wheels. Equipped with 4 DUNLOP beaded tires in good condition, size 820 x 120. In the history of the vehicle it is interesting to note that this TAM was bought by Maurice DUFRESNE on October 14, 1973 in a public auction in Fontenay-le-Comte at Maître Michel SAINT-GAL, then resold to the current owner.
