SIMCA was originally a subsidiary of FIAT created in November 1934 to build its models under license in France in order to avoid the exorbitant customs duties of the time. The SIMCA 8 Sport is the result of a design by Battista FARINA, coupe and cabriolet, on a SIMCA 8 base. It enthused the public at the 1948 show and was produced until 1952. SIMCA buys back the license from Stablimenti FARINA and then entrusts the manufacture of the bodies to FACEL METALLON whose production unit is based in Amboise in Indre-et-Loire. The assembly was carried out in the Paris region in Colombes while the finishing took place in Dreux. The example we present has a rather healthy steel and aluminum body, the green canvas top is in good condition as well as the green leather interior. Equipped with 4 drum brakes and Michelin Pilot tires of 5.50 x 15.
