Starting price : 6 000 €. Launched in June 1962, the R8 was designed by Gaston JUCHET and Philippe CHARBONNEAUX. It is one of the first French cars with four disc brakes. The Sierra engine, also known as the Cléon-Fonte engine, with five bearings is new. This engine developed by the engineer René VUAILLAT will have a long career since it will still be used on the Twingo, Express, Clio and Supercinq in the 1990s. The R8 was produced in France between 1962 and 1973. The model we present is the MAJOR version with a 1 100 cm3 engine taken from the Caravelle 1 100 placed at the rear of the vehicle. For a weight of 770 kilos, it can reach 130 km/h. Particularities to note: the rear crossbar is equipped with the R8G double shock absorber assembly. Also the front axle is equipped with short springs and the suspension wishbones are reinforced. Finally, the exhaust manifold is an Autobleu 4/2 assembly. The body is sound, the interior has its original paint, the exterior has undergone a veil.
