In the family of R8 sports cars, everyone remembers the Gordini, a car on which many drivers have sharpened their first weapons, but the 8 Gordini was a toy that some enthusiasts could not afford, that's why Renault satisfied them from 1968 with the R8 S. Aesthetically it takes a lot from the Gordini with its four headlights grille but it is above all a car of compromise, to this sporty exterior, the R8S offers an interior inspired by the R8 Major with its dashboard in fake wood, but with round Jaeger counters that inspire to performance. Fueled by a Weber twin barrel carburetor and a special camshaft, it is more powerful than the Major. On the performance side, it boasts a 146km/h, a respectable performance, 15km/h more than the Major, but 30 less than the Gordini.
