YAMAHA 500 XT US Model 1976 Type: 500 XT Chassis number: 1E 6009215 Engine : Big single cylinder engine of 500 cm3 (Ø cyl. 87 x 84). 32 horsepower at 6 500 rpm. Gearbox: 5 gears, chain transmission. Mileage : 5 805 miles on the odometer. Registration: French collector's vehicle, 5 HP. Condition : Rolling, nice original condition. Starting price : 7 000 €. The Yamaha 500 XT appeared at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 1975, at the origin of the revival of single-cylinder four-stroke motorcycles and of the craze for the trail bike category. In March 1976, the first version was released in France. At the request of the French importer, a model for the United States was adapted to meet French homologation standards. By July of the same year, 500 units were sold. Thus this motorcycle of character is a true myth for the motorcyclists. It participated in many African rallies, in particular the Paris-Dakar where it was victorious in 1979 and 1980. The bike we present is in good condition and has the following particularities: the electric circuit is in 6 volts, there is no indicator light on the cylinder head, no passenger seat belt, only one fixing screw on the fork crown, an exhaust passing under the engine and a different shoe. This bike is also sold with its original fuel tank with two small dents, and finally it is equipped with new trial tires size 3.00 x 21 at the front and 4.00 x 18 at the rear.
