PAULI, Andries Lovanium. [1635] Engr., 41 x 40 cm, laid paper (light plate tone, foldings sl. toned). Framed (not unframed). Rare plan of the siege of Leuven by the combined Dutch and French armies, from 24 June to 4 July 1635. Gerard van Gutschoven (Leuven, 1615 - 1668), an assistant to Descartes and mathematician at the university at Leuven, dedicated the map to the Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand (1609-1641). Ref.
