Georges Bastia (1904-1980) was a caricaturist, draughtsman and chansonnier. He was a member of the Humorists, and worked in particular for the "Rire", "la Rampe", "Fantasio" or "Opéra". In 1936, he launched a number of transformations of artists into animals, representing stars of the show in truculent "animal caricatures": Fernand Ledoux, Mistinguett, Michel Simon, Edith Piaf, Fernandel, Maurice Chevalier, Raimu, Cecile Sorel, Micheline Presle, etc.
