In-folio. Full contemporary basane. Dull spine with 5 nerves. Double cold fillet around the plates decorated with a Duseuil style decoration (stylized tulips in spandrels ?). The first board has a split at the beginning of the tail, the headbands are damaged with loss of material, rubbing here and there. Handwritten bookplates on title page, one crossed out. Very fresh interior.
Third edition (the 1st in 1689) of this important work of philosophy. Complete with the frontispiece portrait of the author.
A fine copy.
