In-12°. Full calf of time. Spine with 4 nerves richly decorated and gilded. Author's and title-piece in red morocco, caption-piece in black morocco. Red edges. Upper margins a little short.
Rare first edition. Volumes 2 and 3 are dated 1718, the others 1722. Varret, associated with the Widow Prudhomme, took over the printing house under his name at the death of the latter. He would have reprinted new title pages in his own name and with the date of 1722 to complete the last copies of the Histoire générale du Hainaut which were not yet sold.
A very nice copy despite the deficit of volumes 5 and 6.
