An undisputed model of plasticity and softness, this work by Raphael was conceived around 1514, just after the frescoes of the Heliodorus Room in the Vatican Palace. The painting is kept in the Palatine Gallery in Florence, and we find it here, in a reduced version dating from the 19th century, in its beautiful Florentine frame in carved and gilded wood.
