[ARTIFICIALS] - Table of mining works representing the positions of the miner at different times of his work. S.l., s.d., (circa 1830), in-4, one f. n. ch. of handwritten table, 16 hand-captioned plates, half navy blue basane with corners, spine ribbed and decorated with gilt fillets and fleurons, title pushed in gilt letters on a basane cartouche in the center of the upper board (period binding). Lacks of leather on the spine, corners and edges rubbed. Very interesting album of drawings giving all the steps of the digging of a gallery, intended to place mines under the positions of the enemy, and to fire them. I.Laying of a frame with ears, at the moment when the miner checks the direction of the soles. - II. Laying of a plain frame, at the moment when the miner establishes the plumbness of a sole. - III. Gallery entrance at the bottom of a shaft made in good ground, at the moment when the miner sets the cap of the first frame. - IV. Gallery entrance at the bottom of a shaft made in bad ground, at the moment when the miner engages the sky boards. - V. Excavation and removal of earth in large gallery. - VI. Advancement of the sky boards in the big gallery in the case of a ground of average consistency. - VII. Advancement of the excavation, in half gallery, in the case where the bad quality of the ground obliges to push a mask forward. - VIII. Laying of a footing, when the miner measures the diagonals. - IX. Excavation and removal of the earth in small branch. - X. Excavation and removal of soil, in a ball pit. - XI. Advancement of the sky boards in small branch. - XII. Laying of a footing, when the miner establishes the level with the previous footing. - XIII. Placement of the box of a furnace. - XIV.
