BIGARRÉ (General). Memoirs, 1775-1813; by the aide-de-camp of the king
Joseph. Paris, E. Kolb, s.d., (1893), in-8, olive half-basin, spine ribbed, cover preserved (modern binding).
Tulard, 152. "These memories were written in 1830. Having joined the consular guard, Bigarré attended the coronation and then the battle of Austerlitz. His regiment having lost a flag at Austerlitz, he reared back under Napoleon's reproaches and became aide-de-camp to Joseph, whom he followed to Madrid, the story stops in 1812. Told in a naive way, the gallant conquests and marital misfortunes of Bigarré give his memories a pleasant tone.
