Unique and rare edition of this work which is part of the great polemic of the end of the 18th century on Folard's theories, and especially on the role of the cavalry which he devalued in favor of a better used infantry. At the end of volume II, one will find two annexed treatises, Traité de la connoissance extérieure du cheval, Traité de la méchanique du mors, which are taken from the Essai sur les haras (1769), by the same author, a cavalry officer in the service of the King of Sardinia.
