Peacock with many turquoise stones
Iran, Qajar art, late 19th-early 20th century
Extraordinary peacock in the round in silver and gold metal with a fully filigree body and partially decorated on the body of cabochons and turquoise beads of various sizes. The egret is decorated with three oval pearls inserted on a stem, and a stone is attached to the crop. The articulated tail is decorated with three rows of turquoise cabochons. The peacock is fixed on a rectangular base with a drawer, and rests on four splayed feet. Condition : Some turquoise stones are missing ; wear and tear and small accidents (one leg to be reattached).
