Charming letter to his bookseller friend, evoking the deliberations of the Goncourt Prize jury. "The biggest one weighs 750 grams!" says Pauline to me. Then she mentions a forthcoming birth, wishing Huguette "a child of weight, a child-record, - but not too cruel to its mother!" She did not write earlier: "the Goncourts imposed on us a meeting, a super-meeting, a super-discussion, a hyper-meeting at the notary's, a lunch at Drouant's, - for which I called in sick... [It was Jean-Louis Curtis who won the 1947 Goncourt Prize for The Forests of the Night].
