Note on the model offered for sale: Produced in 1500 pieces between 1934 and 1964, the model 130 is the quintessence of the Patek Philippe style between 1935 and 1950. With its rare purity, its Bauhaus-inspired lines reflect the modernity and technicality of this exceptional model. In the same Aix family since its acquisition, this chronograph model 130 is exceptional in its purity. Never polished, with the presence of the Swiss and French hallmarks perfectly visible, this watch has its original dial, with a touching patina and telling of a lifetime of use. Coming with an "Oyster Rivet Elastique" type bracelet, similar to those produced by Gay Frères for Patek Philippe or Rolex, it is period and probably comes from Italy considering the hallmarks present on the buckle. The case back has the hallmark of the Emile Vichet workshop (9 in a key), which made the cases of the most complicated, most expensive and most sought after Patek Philippe watches. It is rare today to find an unrestored example, from the same family since the beginning, with a lovely patina. For example, Phillips Auction House sold a similar example on a leather strap with a restored dial by Patek Philippe in New York in December 2021 for $88,000. Bibliography: - A similar model (with dial with ball indexes and applied Roman numerals, dated 1936) is reproduced on page 204 of the book Patek Philippe - Montres Bracelets, Martin Huber Alan Banbery, Antiquorum edition, Geneva, Switzerland, 1988 - A similar movement (chronograph with 30-minute counter) with movement number 862.345 (300 numbers away from the one offered for sale) is dated 1941 in the book Patek Philippe - Montres Bracelets, Martin Huber Alan Banbery, Antiquorum édition, Genève, Suisse, 1988
