MESSAGE PLATE / MESSAGE STICK Very nice message stick in hard wood (mulgawood) with carved motives with animal teeth (kangaroo or possum) with ochre remains on one face. The other side was certainly carved with shells. The piece is rare because it bears black traces on one side following the passage of fire during ceremonies. First half of the 20th century. Central Australia 69 x 10 cm Provenance : private collection Netherlands.
