KAREDADA( KARADADA) LILY (Pitjarintjin). Circa 1937.
Rain spirit / Wandjina rain spirit, 2010
This character with large eyes and no mouth represents the rain spirit. It is a human representation discovered in the Kimberley caves. For more than 50,000 years, it is said that these spirits lived in the clouds and arrived on earth with the rains. On the back of the painting: reference 15/9.
