In-8, ruby morocco, boards decorated with a large frame and gilt fillets, black morocco lining, framed with a gilt fillet, double endpaper, spine decorated with a rooster at the end, gilt head, gilt edges, cover (Noulhac). Luxurious edition illustrated with 19 compositions by Adrien Moreau etched by Xavier Lesueur. Edition at 250 copies, this one of the 100 on japon with 3 states of the engravings (pure etching, before the letter with remarks and final state) and enriched with 2 BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL AQUARELLES SIGNED BY ADRIEN MOREAU AND AN AUTOGRAPHIC LETTER OF THANKS FROM BALZAC for the reservation of a table at the conservatoire. From the library of Arthur Meyer (1844-1924), creator of the Musée Grévin, with his ex libris engraved with his motto "Je chante clair" and with his special gilt iron on the tail of the spine. Nice copy.
