Ammonite Placenticeras. The shell has fossilized, pseudomorphosed into aragonite in the bright colors of ammolite. In 1981, Ammolite is qualified as a gem by the CIBJO (Commission of Colored Gemstones). Very good condition and superb blue, green and red opalescence. Southern Alberta, Canada. Cretaceous, Campanian: 83.5 to 72 million years old. H : 32cm
