Mosaic made with tesserae in marble and calcite of different colors, they are all original.
It is mounted in a wooden frame resting on molded feet of unequal dimensions at the front and back, so the picture is tilted.
The tesserae compose a bird with spread wings wearing a necklace.
It was surely part of the border of a large mosaic, this type of pattern is valued by the Romans.
It dates from the Roman period, IV-VI century.
Dimensions : 32X29 cm
It comes from a French collection before 1990
