Oil/canvas, 62 x 50,5 cm, lo. le. sign. J. J. Henner. - French figure and portrait painter. The talented H. received initial instruction in his native Alsace before studying at the Paris Academy from 1846, where he won the Rome Prize in 1858; he lived in Italy for five years.
