Ranft cup with portrait of Franz Schubert Colorless glass with beaten ranft. Rectangular picture field on the front with bust portrait of Franz Schubert in extremely fine enamel painting after the famous portrait created by Wilhelm August Rieder in 1825. Silver-yellow stained framing and corresponding lip rim with ornamental flower or leaf stems in gold painting. H. 11 cm.
The cup is attributed to Fürchtegott Leberecht Fischer (1866-1954), who had a workshop for glass and porcelain painting in Vienna from 1894, where he produced glass in the style of Kothgasser.
