Foreign (Austria-Hungary ?), first half of the 18th century. Hussar saber, without scabbard, circa 1728. Cast brass mounting, long-tailed spoon cap fixed at its base on the hilt with an iron nail (it does not join the cruise by stopping 10 mm above). Guard with a very widened branch at its departure of the cap to join the cruise in right angle. Cruise with bar and dust on the left side of the frame, the quillon ending in a ball. Presence of an illegible punch on the top of the dust. Wooden handle covered with basane. Straight blade with stained gray patina and traces of orange peel oxidation in places, gutter near the back 48 cm long and 1 cm wide, with flat back and single edge then counter edge towards the tip. It is finely engraved with a profile portrait and the inscription "Anno 1728" on one side, and a Latin cross between branches under a closed crown with the inscription "P. E. a. Saun" on the other side. 101 cm (blade 88 cm, l. at heel 3,5 cm). (the handle is damaged, important play of the cruciate-edge on the frame, small shocks on the edge, rather good state of conservation). In its original condition, never in collection before.
