An Islamic mortar
Cast bronze with matte, brown flecked patina, engravings and silver and bronze damascene. Of tapering form, decorated with two rows of lotus bud reliefs and Kufic calligraphy around the upper and lower borders. H 13.3, D 14.5 cm, weight c. 5.1 kg.
Attributed to Khorasan/Iran, 12th C.
