Pair of garden figures lying sphinxes German, 2nd half 19th century, corpus of fired clay, with later red paint and partial gilding, after Egyptian model, with the body of a lion and head of a woman with elaborate, partly modeled Nemes headcloth, the high rectangular base old restored, surface with some shallow chipping and paint loss, stronger signs of age and weathering, dimensions 60 x 82 x 44 cm each.
