Pentagone au fleuron
Central Asia, Timurid art, 15th century
Pentagonal shaped tile, decorated with black lines and colored glazes enhanced with gold, decorated with white palmettes forming a fleuron around a four-lobed rosette from which emerge leafy stems. Turquoise border. Condition: restorations on the sides, chips.

Old collection number "3737" painted in red on one of the sides, and two old labels mentioning that these tiles come from the mosque of Khafre (Persia XVI). Expert L.S.
