Interesting subject derived from a sculptural group preserved at the Capitol and translated into print by the Mantuan master Adamo Scultori.
The work was praised by Pierre-Jean Mariette, Adam Bartsch, Anton Maria Zanetti and other print scholars for its good technical level and is considered one of the artist's most successful engravings (Bartsch 11).
Specimen in the second state of three, with the plate scratch crossing the horse's tail and leg.
