PAIR OF CHINA PORCELAIN VASES, mounted as a lamp
Porcelain: China, Kangxi reign (1662-1722)
Mounting: 19th century
China porcelain with blue and white decoration; gilt bronze
H. 42 cm, Diam. 13,5 cm
Our long-necked bottle vases, in Kangxi porcelain, have been mounted as lamps in a later period. Their gilt bronze decoration with two handles with Greek motifs is similar to that of the vases that belonged to Henri Samuel (fig. 1).
Our pair has kept its original blue-white decoration on both sides with flowers, vases, stools and fans painted on the background in reserve.
