Luca Giordano (Naples 1634 - 1705) The Philosopher Oil on canvas 116 x 98 cm The work is accompanied by a card by Professor Mina Gregori, available on request via email. The professor writes: "The frank and strongly characterized presentation of this Philosopher immediately brings us back to Luca Giordano." As a further confirmation of the authenticity of the canvas, to the expertises of the eximious professor we must add a work, then unknown, identical for subject and measures to the present one in auction. Appeared in the antiquarian market in 2010, it was acquired, in the same year, by the French State and is now preserved at the Palais des Beaux-Arts Museum in Lille.
