Bernard Prince - Le souffle de Moloch
India ink on paper for plate 31 of the album. Signed lower left. 42,2 x 31,8 cm. Lombard, 1976.
The Breath of Moloch is an epic tale inserted between The Sky is Red over Laramie and The Desert without Light, two of the most outstanding episodes of the Comanche series.
Greg confronts our trio of navigators with an intrigue mixing drugs, plague, volcanic eruption and mass evacuation, not to mention the theft of the Cormorant. This plate with the attack of the tiger is one of the most striking of the album.
Hermann recalls: "I was very happy to work with Greg. And then, on my request, he often introduced an element in the kind "natural disaster" to give free rein to my desire to create atmospheres. Or more simply scenes of fog or rain, which allow the pencil to dream."
