Georges Duthuit. A party in Cimmeria. Original lithographs by Henri Matisse. Paris, Tériade, 1963. In-4, in sheets, illustrated cover filled, folder, case of the publisher. First edition : unique edition at 130 copies on vélin de Rives (n° 22). 31 original full-page lithographs by Henri Matisse, including one on the cover. Posthumous book by Henri Matisse (died in 1954) : the project had been delayed by his son-in-law, Georges Duthuit, because he had not finished his text about the Inuits. However, in 1949 Matisse had executed a series of lithographs based on Inuit masks from the Duthuit collection. When the text was finally completed, Tériade published it in 130 copies.
