Antique Mohajeran Sarouk Rug, 2’5’’ x 4’9’’ Lot n° 387

This West Persian village scatter is significantly finer than the usual run of Sarouks and the general high quality allows an attribution to the standout Mohajeran village. The nearly black navy field is another support for the attribution. The pattern is the classic detached floral spray layout, the so-called “American Sarouk” design. Good spacing and a 1920’s date./ Cotton foundation. Short pile. Good condition.
