Aldina - Pontano, Giovanni - Opera. Urania, sive de stellis libri quinque ...
Venice, Aldus Manutius, 1513. In the 8th. Still aldine on the title page and on the verso of the last card, spaces for drop caps with guide letters, slight defects on the title page, marginal halo of humidity on some papers, blooms, binding in full rigid parchment of the century XIX, back with six compartments separated by golden bands decorated with phytomorphic elements, two green pieces with title, author and typographer, golden cuts and finely chiseled with repeated floral iron. Completely evanescent ownership note on the title page.
** Second edition of the first part of the lyrics, already printed by Aldo in 1505, increased by 18 compositions (included in the Iambici and De laudibus divinis sections). Pontano was undoubtedly the most active Latin poet of the second half of the fifteenth century, together with Poliziano, celebrated here by Aldo also because of his personal esteem and friendship. Renouard 63/7.
