Madonna and Child
CHAMPAGNE, SECOND HALF OF THE 15TH CENTURY
Ronde-bosse carved limestone with traces of polychrome. Standing with her hip to one side, she carries the Child in her left arm; her head is crowned with a high floral crown; beautiful, young face with almond-shaped eyes, straight nose, full lower lip, and very rounded chin; she wears a shirt, a scoop-neck dress, and a coat open in front with large, square-ish pleats.
