A William IV amethyst brooch/pendant, A William IV amethyst brooch/pendant, with a central circular mixed cut amethyst, claw set to a deeply chased frame. An outer row of alternating oval mixed cut and key stone cut amethysts, all claw set with pierced hoops between, to a later curved pin. Tested as approximately 18ct gold, later brooch fitting as approximately 9ct gold. 44mm diameter, 15.42g Condition Report: Lead solder present to later brooch fitting, which has not held at the hinge side. This could be improved.
