A pair of cased Victorian split pearl, banded agate and enamel drop earrings, c.1870, A pair of cased Victorian split pearl, banded agate and enamel drop earrings, c.1870, a circular domed top with a horizontal band of enamel decoration with a kite shaped plaque drop suspended below. An oval cabochon banded agate, rub set towards the bottom with a split pearl, star set to the top. A hand engraved ground with a black and white champlevé enamel, Greek key style border, to a lightly domed back and hook fittings. A fitted case by Aitchison, to H.I.M. the Emperor of Austria, Court Jeweller, 23 Princess St. Edinburgh. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. 49mm long, 6.56g (2) Condition Report: Tarnished. Some losses to the enamel. Dents, ripples to the one earring, noticeable from the front. Very dirty. Hung loose to the fitted base of the case.
