A Victorian diamond set oval cluster brooch/pendant, c.1880, A Victorian diamond set oval cluster brooch/pendant, c.1880, with an old European cut diamond in a cut down collet at the centre. A pierced open star border of graduated old European cut diamonds, with a series of open petal shapes. A cushion shaped old European cut diamond in a cut down collet at the centre of each open petal, with graduated cushion shaped diamonds grain set to the petal tips. All set in silver and backed in gold, with a scalloped gold gallery, fold down bale and a detachable brooch fitting. Tested as sterling silver and approximately 9ct gold. A later case by John Bagshaw & Sons, Liverpool. 39 x 35mm, 17.17g Condition Report: Diamonds bright and lively. A little dirty and dusty. A later roller catch to the brooch fitting. Although detachable, this may be a later brooch fitting.
