First part of the charitable works of Philbert Guybert
Paris, Jean Jost, 1631.
In-12, full ivory vellum of the time, spine curved. Stitching broken.
Published for the first time in 1623, the work of Philbert Guybert, a Parisian physician, will be completed by various treatises, most often gathered under the title "Les Oeuvres charitables" and which were the object of about sixty editions until 1678.
The first part will trace the period from 1623 to 1629, with Guybert's first texts and the controversies that arose between physicians and apothecaries.
