[ALMANACH].
Calendar of the court, drawn from the ephemeris, for the leap year One thousand seven hundred and seventy-six.
Paris : Veuve Hérissant, 1776. - In-24, red morocco, gilt plate and trophy of arms in a medallion of gilt garlands in the center on the boards, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges (period binding).
A very nice copy of this almanac, covered with a binding decorated with a very rare gilt plate presenting a rich decoration of two palmettes in the center at the top and at the bottom, from which spring scrolls of hollowed-out foliage stopping at the edge of a multilobed frame in the center. This frame surrounds a floral garland and a trophy of arms composed of a cuirass, four flags and a bicorn.
This copy was part of the very beautiful "Catalogue de reliures du XVe au XIXe siècle" of the Gumuchian bookshop, published in 1929. It appears under the number 282, with a reproduction.
