Collection of several hundred original book covers from the 19th and 20th centuries.
These covers are mostly illustrated, some are presented under matting. Many are in multiple copies.
Among the illustrators are Robida ("Les Vieilles villes du Rhin"), Abel Faivre ("Le Rire"), Poulbot ("la Maternelle" by Léon Frapié), Lobel-Riche ("Plaisirs d'amour" by Jeanne Landre), Gerbault ("Les Gosses de Paris" by Jules Lévy), Ferdinand Bac ("Belles de Jour et belles de nuit" by jules Lévy), etc.
Many of these covers were made for Ernest Flammarion, including some for the Collection Guillaume, but also for Calmann Lévy, Juven, Librairie Molière, etc.
They are not unmade covers but original covers coming from the printer, never used.
