Pair of Vases 20th century; Schlaggenwald style, Czech Republic, 19th century. Porcelain. Numbering on the base. Measurements: 44 x 28 x 15 cm. Pair of ornamental vases of rococo style, both pieces present a similar structure and similar aesthetics, although they differ slightly in the ornamentation. Each of them is based on a deep blue background, one of the main coloured backgrounds of that manufacture, which was usually combined, as we see here, with gilt elements on the background and cartouches with polychrome enamels on a white background, although it is worth noting in this case the gradation of the cartouche, which varies from white to black and on which the bouquet of flowers is placed. Schlaggenwald is a Czech porcelain factory. Today it continues the tradition of the first porcelain factory founded in 1792 in Horní Slavkov - Schlaggenwald. They excel in the production of high quality Czech porcelain, produced with proven technological processes. Most of the Schlaggenwald porcelain is called Saxon hard-paste porcelain, which is fired at temperatures between 1300 and 1400 degrees. It is characterised by its hard 'fragment' and complete sintering, which gives it high strength and minimal water absorption. Decorated with traditional hand-painting techniques or decals, and with historic steel plates hand-engraved with hundreds of motifs: from traditional floral motifs to unique hunting motifs.
