Measurements: 47 x 38 x 15 cm.
Table clock made in a piece of black marble, which presents a sculptural conception based on a wide volumetry. The base has a rectangular format with a wide profile, on the front of which two curved elements can be seen that correspond to the base of some columns, differentiated both by their rounded shape and by the colour, which contrasts with the black used in the body of the red one. Above the base is the central area of straight lines, flanked by the columns, which give way to two large scrolls, each of which is located at either end of the clock. Finally, the crown, also decorated with scrolls, supports the clock case, which stands out for its gilded perimeter and white central base, with Roman numerals in black. The movement bears the hallmark of the Japy Frères firm, one of the most prestigious in Europe at the end of the 19th century, founded in the middle of the century by Frédéric Guillaume, Louis Frédéric and Jean Pierre, sons of the renowned watchmaker Frédéric Japy, who had long before laid the foundations of modern watchmaking.
