JUAN ANTONIO ABELLÁN JULIÁ (Spain, 1961). Untitled. Sculpture in polyester resin, with iron support. Size: 91 x 41 cm. A contemporary Spanish artist, based between America and Europe, Juan Antonio Abellán Juliá is mainly known for his series "Conciencia axial", "Universos simultáneos" and "Paralelo / Humanidad cuántica". Throughout his career, he has been selected for more than twenty of the main prizes and competitions in Spain, with special mention for the BMW Prize, the Castilla La Mancha National Competition and the XXXI San Juan de Alicante National Painting Competition, where he was awarded first prize. He has also represented Spain at the Paris Salon d'Automne (2001) and the Florence Biennale (1999 and 2001), and has participated in major art fairs in Spain (Seville, Marbella, Vigo) and abroad (Miami, Ghent). He made his solo debut in 1999, presenting his series "Conciencia axial" in Madrid, Cieza, Alicante and the Consulate General of Colombia in Miami. Since then he has held solo exhibitions in Spain, Mexico and Turkey, and has executed monumental pieces in Spain and Mexico. He is currently represented in private collections and institutions in Spain, France, Portugal, Mexico and the United States.
